The weekend we spent with Lydia, Joao, their family and friends down in Agoura Hills, CA was incredible for a lot of different reasons. We had never actually met in person until we arrived at their rehearsal the day before the wedding. The entire evening served to confirm what we already suspected... these two are their own separate breed of amazing! Here are a few moments we captured during their rehearsal.
One of our favorite moments from the evening was the toasts. Their hilarious and heart-felt stories, with a good mix of encouragement and inspiration. Everyone shared, even if was just one word to describe Lydia and Joao...

Beautiful work! :)
I LOVE these! The top image of them laughing couldn't have captured them better! Looks like a fabulous, fun, laid-back and completely enjoyable evening. Thanks for sharing!!
GERALD!!! AIRIKA!!! These are absolutely so wonderfully joyful and fun. It looks like a celebration! Which (don't know if I told you--was one of the words Joao and I had decided we wanted our wedding to be: Celebration and New Beginnings.) and these pictures ooze our story and what we prayed and hoped for!!! I LOVE YOU BOTH SO MUCH! I think everyone should have the privilege of you both to shoot at their wedding. I told you a hundred times and I will say it again, the two of you together are a living, breathing, and working example of what it means to be married. On such an important day for a bride and groom, with you two there, all they have to do is look past the lens to the people behind the camera and see the hope, happiness, and love waiting for them as husband and wife. The photographs tell the story of the beginning and capture the present moments, but the photographers are what we can see living out the future. Lucky. We were/are so lucky. Thank you so much!!! We love you so much and I wrote so much because I am feeling particularly overwhelmed and humbled with thankfulness to you both and our God. I LOVE MY LIFE!!!!
Great stuff on this blog! We saw that our friends the Youngrens spoke at your PUG recently and have heard that it was awesome, but wow! 62 in attendance is great! We would love to come out some time and meet you guys! If you are going to be at Partner Con, look us up and we should have a coffee and hang!
