Get Hitched, Give Hope: Tomorrow Night!

Hello blog friends!

Tomorrow night, Gerald and I will be attending a Bridal Event called Get Hitched, Give Hope! It's a fabulous cocktail party fundraiser happening on October 23 at the Dome Room of the Arctic Club in Seattle. Brides, grooms, and guests will have the opportunity to indulge in sips and sweets while they mingle with wedding vendors, shop for gorgeous wedding day goods, and give to a great cause.

Some of Seattle's wedding professionals will be donating their services for a silent auction, and brides will be able to get wedding services that they need, all while giving back to a great cause: the proceeds from the silent auction go to Brides Against Breast Cancer and the Making Memories Foundation. Even though there were no more booth/donation spaces left for photographers, we wanted to show our support for the cause, so if any of our current brides attend, we have a little something that we'd like to give you. :)

With your help, the founders of Get Hitched, Give Hope, hope to raise $50,000 to grant wishes for breast cancer patients and their families. Please join us to toast to this wonderful cause!

Emily Robert: A preview

If you've ever heard someone talk about childlike faith, Emily & Robert's love for each other is kind of like that. It's selfless, grace-filled, full of hope, and always seeking to find the best in the other. I was so touched by the raw sincerity of their love, that I was brought to tears several times on their wedding day.

Elizabeth & Steven: Engaged

Several weeks ago, Elizabeth and Steven invited us out on a little trip to Bainbridge Island to take their engagement photos. It was a beautiful late-summer day, and the time literally flew by as we explored the shores and streets of Bainbridge--shooting photos, drinking mochas, and enjoying the sunshine as we went. In fact, we were having so much fun hanging out with them, that we actually left one of our camera bags in a coffee shop somewhere along the way! We didn't even realize it until our ferry to Seattle was pulling away from the dock! Somehow, Airika convinced them to back up the boat to let her off,while I went on ahead with Elizabeth and Steven. Ok, ok, maybe they didn't have to back up the boat, but they did have to radio the captain for permission to lower the ramp that had already been raised for departure. We are so glad that Elizabeth and Steven have a great sense of humor! :)

Elizabeth and Steven, thanks for a wonderful day--we cannot wait to photograph your Christmastime wedding!

Anna & Eric's Wedding Slideshow

I'll never forget the day that we received an inquiry email from Anna. She wrote us a long, beautiful letter about how she cried during her visit to our website and how, from the moment she saw our images, she knew that we were THE photographers for her wedding. Then she encouraged us to visit her wedding website so that we could see photos of her and Eric and read their engagement story. Even before I read their moving love story, I was hooked by the beautiful melody of the song that Eric had written for his bride. It is only fitting that I now share that song with you in their wedding slideshow.
